This is a new addition to the site. Several times a year, we receive emails from people with original old antique bars. Naturally, they ask, what is the best way to sell their old bar? And the answer is not obvious. Selling a bar of such nature on ebay isn’t always the ‘right’ thing to do. How many 10-day auctions are you going to waste trying to find that unique buyer that wants your special bar? Selling an old original antique bar is like finding a buyer for my 1800s trestle table.

Therefore, I have decided to add a simple section that will allow individuals to showcase and advertise their original old Brunswick or original antique bar. The bars here will likely be larger older 20’+ bars, but some original European bars were made in the home bar size.

The listings are absolutely FREE. We don’t make a dime on the listing or the sale. EnglishBars.com does not receive a commission or endorse any of the bars listed here. The contact number for the individual is listed and a negotiable or firm price is listed.

We hope this new addition is a benefit for the customers interested in the original older bars/pubs and also serve as an educational tool and snapshot into the past of antique bars/pubs.

This magnificent oak front & back bar was manufactured by Brunswick, Balke and Collender Co. in the eastern United States in the late 1800’s. It was then sent by ship around Cape Horn and up the Columbia River. The bar was then placed in a “Gentleman’s Club” in the Walla Walla, Washington area.

In the 1960’s the bar was moved from a hotel, which was being demolished and installed in a tavern on Main Street. When the tavern was sold in 1969, the front & back bars were removed and stored until August 2011 when it underwent a full restoration.

The front and back bar are both 21 1/2 feet long. The back bar is 10.5 ft high. The back bar breaks down into 2 pieces on the bottom section, 3 pieces in the middle section and 1 crown piece. It is currently assembled, but not in use. The bar is located in Kennewick, WA.
